As a first research project, this dissertation focused on the pragmatic analysis of the travel narrativeUn nègre à Parisby Bernard Binlin Dadié. The aim was to study the various speech acts used by the traveller-narrator Tanhoé Bertin, and to understand how his speech acts function in a travel narrative in general, but in our corpus in particular.
