James H. "Doc" Lockhart, Jr., Ed.D., a resident of Rockville, Maryland, is a professional educator, nationally-known public speaker, award-winning poet, honored playwright and essayist, published author, community leader and church official. Dr. Lockhart has taught at the high school level (Albany and Schenectady (New York) public schools), and at the State University of New York at Albany. He served as a Program Specialist at the New York State Department of Education, and has worked with the U.S. Department of Education, monitoring educational programs, providing technical assistance to both officials and practitioners, and presenting at numerous conferences at the local, state and national levels. Dr. Lockhart is excited to bring forth his latest poetic work, "A Treasure Chest of the Best-Loved Poems of J.H. Lockhart."
