This study resulted from the development of some reflections on Art Education from the point of view and performance of Basic Education teachers (Elementary School II - 5th to 9th grade) at the Padre Enemias School in Chorozinho-Ceará in 2011 and aims to bring contributions to the debate on the difficulties encountered in their practice. To begin our journey, in the first part of this study we will look at the theoretical framework, reflecting on some theoretical questions about Art Education, subjects and institutional daily life. This historical approach is presented with the aim of enriching the paths to clarifying the questions that permeate theoretical and practical discussions in the area of Arts; in the second part, we will present a methodological design on the subject, addressing the project envisaged and the path taken; in the third part, we will outline the results presented; in the fourth part, we will analyze the results diagnosed, going into the daily life of the selected school, understanding its historical life, where we will highlight its location, its setting, its characters and share with the school community the institutional daily life, 'getting to know' its historical life.
