Autorenporträt
About the Author: Günther Knör received his doctorate in 1994 working in Regensburg and Bologna on the photocatalytic production of solar fuels. After PostDoc research on artificial photosynthesis in Stockholm, he introduced the new concept of light-driven enzyme model compounds (Habilitation 2001). Knör obtained professorships at the universities of Vienna and Erlangen-Nuremberg. Appointed as a full professor in 2006, he founded the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry and Center of Nanobionics and Photochemical Sciences at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. In 2019 he followed an invitation as a visiting scientist at the department of chemistry and chemical biology of Harvard University. Knör is author of numerous scientific publications on interdisciplinary applications of visible-light controlled chemistry and catalysis including biomimetic photosystems and novel aspects of synthetic biology.
