The study was conducted during 2019-2020 in North Karnataka districts of Dharwad, Belagavi and Uttar Kannada districts. Exploratory research design was used. Random sampling method was applied to select a sample size of 120 bamboo artisans' family. The respondents were interviewed personally to elicit the primary information by using self structured interview schedule. Bamboo enterprise activities were mainly dominated by women (66.66%) and major per cent of the artisans belonged to middle age group (43.34%). Majority of the respondents attended primary school (52.50%) and majority of the respondents belonged to nuclear family (60.83%). Seventy per cent of the artisans belonged to lower middle socio economic status. Level of body tolerance to the symptoms of problems related to pain during work was bearable and frequency of problems related to pain was quite often in lower back, and when respondents experienced pain in the body parts like neck, shoulder and lower back they temporarily terminated work. There was positive and highly significant relationship between frequency of pain and the cutting and stripping activities.
