Tony Golsby-Smith is one of the pioneers of 'creation theology' in the world. He brings fresh perspectives to old problems of faith and life because he combines two worlds - design thinking and theology. This gives him a unique insight into 'creation' - both from the practical perspective of toolkits and methods, and from the theological perspective of meaning and transcendence. Tony founded an iconic 'design thinking' firm, 2nd Road which took design into the wider problem spaces of strategy and large scale systems design. He built a unique toolkit of right brain thinking heuristics that have helped many organisations and leaders solve wicked problems far more effectively. But Tony did not stop there; he was aware that he was using an alternative art of thought to the traditional scientific methods that have dominated the academy, business and education. In his doctoral dissertation he framed this alternative thinking methodology as the 'second road' of thought and meticulously argued for its origin in classical rhetoric. He is now co-founder of a technology firm, Mimesis Labs, which aims to enhance decision making through the use of digital tools in big data and advanced analytics. He is also the founder of Gospel Conversations, a podcast forum that explores a 'bigger God with a bigger project' in the making of the world. In these diverse situations Tony argues for the centrality of humanity to the cosmos and to reality. He grounds this claim in a high vision of Christ and the incarnation, and he argues that ironically both religion and secularism have often diminished what it means to be human.
