The Author: Marouf A. Hasian, Jr. is Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Utah. He received his J.D. from Campbell University, North Carolina, in 1984 and his Ph.D. in speech communication from the University of Georgia in 1993. He has written numerous articles in professional journals on a variety of historical and contemporaneous legal issues.
