Nelson Varas-Díaz is professor in the Department of Global and Sociocultural Studies at Florida International University. He is the director of the documentary film Songs of Injustice: Heavy Metal Music in Latin America and coeditor of Heavy Metal Music in Argentina: In Black We Are Seen, also published by Intellect.
