The group of criminal offences against road traffic safety has become an issue of global importance in the 20th century. The group of criminal offences against road traffic safety has become an issue of global importance in the 20th century. In order to present this paper, it is necessary to provide a brief overview of the traffic crime and offences in the Republic of Serbia. We shall also point out to the criminal offences against traffic safety as per the Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia and their most important characteristics, as well as the procedural activities as regulated by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Serbia. Discovering criminal offences against road traffic safety essentially starts from the moment of receiving the first information that the traffic accident had occurred marked by the characteristics typical for criminal offences. Through concrete examples from case law provides details of what constitutes a multidisciplinary approach in the work of an expert in discovering the perpetrators of criminal acts against road traffic safety in the Republic of Serbia. We hope that our experience in this field will be of benefit to the widest circle of professionals from other countries, to familiarize themselves with the domestic legislation in this field.
