Hilary Afshary is a get it done gal who dabbles in all of life's creativity to make an impact. She is a lifelong student of life continuously working towards a PhD in helping others by sharing all that she learns. She has spent her life elevating her knowledge of humanity; from developing models for motivating individuals to studying the interpersonal relationships among young women to seeking the keys to a happy life, Hilary is dedicated to elevating people to go out and make it a great day. She spent 10+ years with Intel corporation until the birth of her daughter and second love of her life, Eva, which prompted a leave to focus on the study of parenting and the growth and development of young women. As a lifelong storyteller, she shared some of her tips, tidbits and tales of the early parenting years through blogging on Mommynmartinimommynmilk.blogspot.com. An avid volunteer in Eva's middle school and high school, Hilary observed the juxtaposition of trying to give advice when advice may be most needed conflicting with the cry for independence that young women exert and forge as they prepare for life away from home. It became evident that the advice must come in the right way from the right person, i.e., not Mom.Hence, Dorm to Doorstep was born. Hilary holds a B.A. from Hollins University and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University. She is a recovering economist and spent ten years with Intel Corporation learning, failing, succeeding, and impacting in the areas of community relations, public affairs and marketing communications. In 2001, she married the first love of her life, Mr. Tony, after making it clear in a way that only Hilary can on the third date that if he wasn't interested in a serious relationship and marriage, that they end their courtship post stat. Luckily, he hung in there. Her varied list of unique accomplishments includes serving as the presidential greeter to President George W. Bush, volunteering in a myriad of positions including President all the way down to painter for more than 15 non-profit organizations in Arizona and Colorado, cooking a mean Khoresh Gheymeh and Chicken Tikka Masala, tipping her toe into the lifestyle blogger/influencer world with loveglittergirl.com, assisting in her daughter's acting career as chief momager, and self-proclaimed Auntie to her daughter's friends.You can find Hilary hanging out on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok dispensing content from her manuscript as well as other everyday tips, tidbits and tales.
