Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869-1935) is considered one of the first modern American poets, who, in spite of the fact that he stuck to the traditional form throughout his life, was quite modern in the content of his poetry. Robinson was one of the first American poets to write about ordinary people and events. His interest in the individual and his psychology made most critics consider him an individualist. He is also known mainly for his idealism and anti-materialism. This book, through the discussion of some of Robinson's most important selected poems, aims at exploring Robinson's way of looking at life; his vision of this turbulent world, at least during his time; and at the individual and his world. The study also presents the poet's view of love between man and woman through the analysis of his Arthurian trilogy.
