Autorenporträt
" Evan Gabrielsen started collecting information and writing articles on emergency preparedness to counter misperceptions and provide accurate and helpful advice for friends and neighbors. He has presented preparedness concepts to numerous groups and organizations. As he researched the various topics, he became convinced of the need for a balanced, accurate, common-sense resource for families, and this book was born. He wanted to compile basic information for families seeking self-reliance without panic or extremism. The result is a book that is easily read, motivating, and able to help any family get just a little better prepared for the disasters that will surely come to all. Gabe received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University in 1983, and has worked on booster rockets, demilitarization, advanced materials, and environmental cleanup projects before retiring. He and his wife are the parents of two children and grandparents of eight. He enjoys reading, writing, camping, stargazing, and traveling, especially to see the grandchildren. "
