Pan-Africanism is a concept that has its roots in the global African diaspora and it has served as a means of collective struggle against white racism, particularly in the Americas and Europe. With the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Organization of African Unity/ African Union the concept is now back on the agenda,the team of the celebration being "Pan-African ism and African Renaissance". The book thus discovers through the role Ethiopia played as the oldest independent African state and unequivocal political capital of Africa with Addis Ababa being the headquarters of various institutional bodies including the African Union.
