The golden ratio, a mathematical formula used to define harmony in geometric proportions, is observed in nature, manufactured products and also in the human body, being present in almost everything considered harmonious and in functional balance. The existence of this ratio, called phi, which corresponds to the number 1.618, is still considered a mystery. In dentistry, it can be found in an aesthetic smile, face and features on radiographs, such as teleradiographs of the head in a lateral position. The aim of this scientific study was to find this proportion in cephalometric radiographs - according to the results obtained by Ricketts (1981) - of patients from the state of Amazonas aged between 15 and 45 with normal occlusion.
