Expertise and skills acquired by a person can only be accomplished by experience or education. Since my time in Pakistan I envisaged extending my chemical scientific knowledge specific to environmental issues. I was committed and determined to ensure that all terms and conditions be fulfilled as agreed with the Planning and Development Department, Government of the Punjab to ensure completion of this project. It was an ardent task to gather so much data from nowhere and, due to the lack of databases in the country, my research team worked day and night to establish the first database in the country containing information consisting of pesticide exposure and neurological deficiencies. The co-operation of the chemical companies, their staff and all the field workers who were interviewed contributed to the publication of this book. On completion of this project my prayers were for those hardworking people in the fields who were unaware of the dangerous effects which pesticides have on human health.
