In order to develop actions for the propagation and extension of the Piper baracoanum species in the "El Raudal" community of Guisa in the province of Granma, an ethnobotanical survey was conducted by means of a questionnaire of five dichotomous questions to 60 people divided into four strata, young women, adult women, young men and adult men. The reliability analysis showed a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.71 considered as good, the five questions evaluated presented good consistency in terms of ethnobotanical information of the critically endangered plant. Cochran's test was significant, which evidenced the non-coincident criteria for the five questions among the respondents. The dendogram by average chaining and Euclidean distance showed that young men and women form a group by coincidence in their answers, while adult women and men differ in their answers. The survey showed that juveniles of both sexes have a greater knowledge of the presence of the species than adults of both sexes, perhaps due to greater mobility within the study area.
