Andrew spent his high-school years in the school's library lost in the worlds of Andre Norton, Robert Heinlein, and Isaac Asimov. His first commercially accepted series of novels (The Portal Adventures, published by Peasantry Press) were originally completed to be read to his two sons at night. Now his children have left home he lives in Perth with his wife, and a fluctuating number of goldfish, writing Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Alternate History. Previously Principal for the Davies Literary Agency, Andrew was also editor and publisher of 'The Western Australian Year Book' for a number of years, in addition to being the editor and a writer for 'Afterlife - the on-line magazine for Atmosphere users'.Andrew's first published short story (A Messenger to the Dragon) appeared in Aurealis - Australian Fantasy and Science Fiction in 1992. The first book in the Portal Adventures series, Trouble on Teral (a combination of Caroline Lawrence's Roman Mysteries and Andre Norton's juvenile speculative fiction) was released in 2018 by Canada's Peasantry Press. While Nightfall, the first book in Clemhorn Trilogy (an adult alternate history series set in the Cross-Temporal Empire) was released by American publisher Zmok Books in 2019.His alternate history short story, 1827: Napoleon in Australia, was shortlisted for the international 2021 Sidewise Awards for Alternate History, and won Western Australia's science fiction achievement award for Best WA Professional SF Short Work for the same year.
