El Dr. Itzhak Brook es un médico que se especializa en pediatría y enfermedades infecciosas. Es profesor de pediatría en la Universidad de Georgetown en Washington D.C. y sus áreas de especialización son las infecciones anaeróbicas y de cabeza y cuello, incluida la sinusitis. He has done extensive research on respiratory tract infections and infections following exposure to ionizing radiation. Dr. Brook is the author of "My Voice-a Physician's Personal Experience with Throat Cancer", " The Laryngectomee Guide", and "In the Sands of Sinai-a Physician's Account of the Yom-Kippur War". He is a board member of the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance. Dr. Brook is the recipient of the 2012 J. Conley Medical Ethics Lectureship Award by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Brook was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2006 and became a laryngectomee in 2008.
