Historien, turcologue, sinologue et géopolitologue grec. Professeur de relations internationales à l'université d'Ottawa (Canada) depuis 1970. Il est membre de la Société royale du Canada depuis 1999. Il est également poète de langues française et grecque. On a écrit de lui qu'il était "l'un des trois plus importants géopolitologues" dans le monde.
