Interesting exploration of the myth of modernity and a test of its promise of a better place for mankind to be. Boarding a ship to the Galapagos archipelago, the different characters display their own views of love, Man and his relationship to the environment that he aims to dominate regardless of potential harm. The memoir investigates Kurt Vonnegut's criticism of Modernity's made-legitimate project of defacing the world of nature via the human "big brain."
