Ruta graveolens L. commonly called as "Rue" belongs to the family Rutaceae, is an aromatic ornamental medicinal plant native to Europe especially the Mediterranean region. Ruta graveolens L. is a medicinal plant used in traditional systems of medicine for treatment of psoriasis, vitiligo, leucoderma and lymphomas with well known anti inflammatory and anticancer properties. Phytochemical analysis along with in vitro multiplication will be helpful for effective and sustainable utilization of R. graveolens. Even though the plant is widely used for various medicinal purposes it's uses are not yet fully scientifically valided. This book focused on evaluation of the antimicrobial potential of Ruta graveolens as well as it's phytochemical constituents responsible for the unique properties. A protocol for rapid in vitro propagation of Ruta graveolens through high frequency shoot induction using various explants in MS medium was also established. Details of phytochemical constituents, anti microbial property and in vitro propagation of Ruta graveolens are outlined here.
