Shin'ichi Sakamoto was born in Osaka, Japan, on July 19, 1972 and is a Japanese manga-ka. The work he began serializing in 2007, The Climber, won the Excellence Prize at the fourteenth Japan Media Arts Festival. In 2013, Innocent was a jury selection in the manga division at the seventeenth Japan Media Arts Festival. In 2014, Innocent was nominated for a Readers' Award for the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. In 2015, Innocent was nominated and placed at seventh at the Manga Taishō. In 2024, #DRCL midnight children was named Best New Manga at the American Manga Awards.
