Emilia Pardo Bazán (La Coruña, 1851 - Madrid, 1921) fue una de las grandes escritoras e intelectuales europeas de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX. Hija de los condes de Pardo Bazán, tuvo una infancia muy nutrida intelectualmente, recibió formación humanística en historia, filosofía, literatura e idiomas y a una edad temprana escribía ya sus primeras obras.
