Rob was born in San Francisco but grew up in England. After studying Ancient History at university, he worked in advertising and then started writing non-fiction for a children's publishing company. He is the author of the highly acclaimed middle-grade novels Wild Boy and Wild Boy and the Black Terror, as well as four titles in the Jake Atlas adventure series, and is working on a younger series.
