This book deals with the use of natural resources in the Andalusian forests during the 15th century. In order to integrate the regional perspective into the global narrative, attention is paid to European historiography. From an environmental perspective, the interaction between society and the environment is analysed. Forests, which should not be considered a fixed reality in time, are marked by their biological, physiognomic and also historical dynamism and diversity. The result of this process, always active and in movement, has been materialised in a set of information that we receive from these ecological environments and which has given content to the idea of landscape as a multifaceted object of study. A broad reading which, as if it were a palimpsest, includes a diversity of viewpoints.
