When Eve first met James in Australia, she thought she'd found a love to last a lifetime. Then the tug of home draws her back to England for good, and James declares he has no intention of coming with her - ever. Crushed and at a crossroads, Eve is inspired to open an Aussie-style café in the heart of her local community, offering a program of activities for her customers to enjoy alongside their morning latte. By Christmas, The Melbourne Community Café is a thriving hub serving the best coffee this side of the northern hemisphere, and their little staff of three soon open their hearts as well as their doors to those around them, inviting in a mysterious stranger who threatens all they've achieved. With the local handyman and an amorous Italian restaurateur competing for Eve's affections, could her inability to let go thwart her second chance at happiness?
Autorenporträt
Gemma Frances is a married mum from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK currently living in Melbourne, Australia. She's a writer by day, and a social worker with children and families by night. Her childhood dream of travelling the world as cabin crew was never quite realised, as her interview with a major airline was cancelled during the Global Financial Crisis, and she was left with an approved career break but nothing to do (which is probably for the best, as she now has a fear of flying!). Armed with a round-the-world flight and a suitcase (never a backpack), she travelled to Australia on a gap year, fell in love with her husband, and the rest is history. Gemma's is the author of Meet Me At the Melbourne and The Debutante. Meet Me At The Melbourne, her debut novel, won Dick and Angel Strawbridge of the TV show Escape to the Chateau's Literature Competition in 2020 and was published through The Chateau Publishing Limited in 2021.
