Personal essays, short-stories, and word-sketches talk about things we usually don't talk about, and often light a small spark in the darkness with moments of unexpected revelation, shared for no reason except just to "pay it forward." You may find some things here to make you smile, or weep, or whatever your own genuine humanness needs right now. If you see some of yourself in these pages, just know that it's all spoken with love, knowing that sometimes the most reassuring thing we can say to ourselves and each other these these days is "Me too. I understand." Take to heart whatever rings true for you, it's meant to be yours. Whatever doesn't quite hit the mark, just let that part go by. Humanity is designed to be a "smorgasbord" of abundant truths in expression. Help yourself to what feels right for you, and leave the rest for whoever else it was meant for.
After retiring active careers as a line firefighter Paramedic in Alameda County California and a Hospital Emergency Room caregiver in Berkeley, the author is devoting her full time to writing.
