The study of conflicts is part of the research subjects of a wide range of sciences studying relations in society, including socio-economic geography. Like most social phenomena, conflict has its geographical dimension, associated with the territorial localization of its course, resource support, and in some cases - the very cause of the conflict (the struggle for a certain territory and its resources). Accordingly, without the knowledge of the geographical component of conflicts it is impossible to fully study this phenomenon as a whole. The study of the geographical component of the formation and course of a conflict is of great importance, including in the study of conflicts related to the disputes between the conflicting parties over the use of certain natural resources. The uneven distribution of natural resources in geographical space significantly affects the lifestyle and behavior of the conflicting parties.
