At the time this book was written, Alba (on the right) was striving to finish her PhD in Paleogenetics at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, 1821 kilometers away from her homeland in the Catalan Pyrenees. Blanketed by the support of his caring husband and her two perfect cats, it's possible that she has achieved it by now. It's also possible that she hasn't. Perhaps she is still struggling to this day! In either case, should you happen to meet her, she would be more than happy to tell you all about that integral time in her life.
