She is a brilliant art history student. He is her new thesis supervisor. For the sake of her career, she needs to prove the paintings are fake. Anna wants to escape. Preferably to the other side of the world. She belongs in the prestigious studentship program at London's National Portrait Gallery. Not Sydney, in an office resembling a cleaning cupboard. But her London opportunity is torn to shreds. The shredder? Englishman Dr Perry, Anna's new art thesis supervisor. Perry is an expert on art theft. And he is fixated on four suspected fake Aboriginal paintings. To solve the mystery, Perry drags Anna out of her discomfort zone to one completely foreign: her own country. Are the paintings fake? Will Perry's own career ambitions destroy Anna's? Why is Pavlova Australia's national dessert when it's actually from somewhere else? Enjoy this art mystery that will have you salivating from the start.
Megan first attempted growing up in Adelaide. Then continued to try doing the same in Melbourne, New York, Sydney, and the seaside town of Portsea. In these places she mostly worked in private art galleries, with a stint in a Sydney art magazine publishing house while writing her first novel.Moving to Brisbane, the carpet was pulled out from under her, courtesy of CFS/ME. Mid-fall she was caught by the love of her life. Together they moved into a forest in Cooroy where, during her recovery, she became a freelance copywriter and cartoonist. And worked further on her first novel.Somewhere along the line, they moved to the raw joy that is Darwin. Here Megan worked as a cultural enterprise manager for an Aboriginal organisation and swam occasionally in crocodile infested waters. And worked a bit more on her first novel.Moving to the safer paddling spot of Newcastle, Megan now runs her own creative and cultural consultancy. She works with artists and Aboriginal knowledge holders any chance she gets. Megan has given up on growing up, but finally finished that first novel, Pavlova Rising. Megan has since published her collection of short stories 'Cookie Jar'.
