This book aims to present a compelling reflection on the challenges of education in the hospital and to help children, families, doctors, nurses, social workers, and teachers to take an educational look at the moments experienced in the corridors of a pediatric ward. The study sought to understand the role of education in the health of hospitalized children, analyzing the actions of teachers in a public hospital in Brazil. The research methodology was participant observation, and the categories of analysis were: language, play, emotion, and knowledge, based on the theoretical frameworks proposed by Wallon and Vygotsky. How can education contribute to the health of hospitalized children? The conclusion reached is that education enables children to reframe their lives and the hospital space where they find themselves, through attentive and sensitive pedagogical listening that contributes to the restoration of children's subjectivity and self-esteem, thus contributing to their health. There are great possibilities for teachers to act in this new space, as well as the challenge of building an educational practice that supports pedagogical work in the hospital environment.
