This exploratory, descriptive, participatory and plural methodological research investigates the particularities of the Carnival Previews in João Pessoa, Paraíba, understood as a festival capable of mobilizing a large flow of people and generating income, the result of cultural production, a symbol of the Pessoa Carnival. In this context, this paper analyzes the importance of the Folia de Rua project in valuing the local culture and its possible viability as a locally-based tourist attraction.

Erika Silva es Especialista en Turismo de Base Local por la Universidad Federal de Paraíba (2012), Tecnóloga en Geoprocesamiento por el Instituto Federal de Educación Ciencia y Tecnología de Paraíba (2013) y Licenciada en Turismo por el Instituto de Enseñanza Superior de Paraíba (2010). Sus investigaciones se centran en la cultura, el medio ambiente y las geociencias.
