She has written extensively about nineteenth century Mexico and specializes in environmental, urban, and public history. She lives in Chico, California. Leandro Benmergui is Associate Professor of History at Purchase College, State University of New York, USA. He has written about twentieth century Latin America from a transnational perspective and specializes in urban history. He lives in New York City.
