They also shed light on Pettazzoni's initiative to the foundation of the journal NVMEN (1954), and reveal Rose's brilliant personality.

Domenico Accorinti (Ph.D. 1992, Scuola Normale Superiore, Pisa) is an independent researcher and teaches Classics at the Gymnasium Galilei, Pisa. He has published and edited books and articles on late Greek Poetry (especially Nonnus of Panopolis), mythology, and the history of religions.
