Seetaram Mohapatra est actuellement chargé de cours au département de chimie de l'université Ravenshaw, à Cuttack. Il a obtenu son doctorat en 2008 à l'université de Pune, sous la direction du Dr Mukund K. Gurjar. Il a publié dix-neuf articles de recherche dans des revues internationales de renom dans le domaine de la synthèse des produits naturels et des nouvelles méthodologies.
