John Moody (May 2, 1868 - February 16, 1958) was a financial analyst, businessman, and investor from the United States. He pioneered bond rating and established Moody's Investors Service. Moody's Manuals are still published, continuing the tradition started by Moody's Manual of Railroads and Corporation Securities and carried on by the yearly Moody's Analyses of Investments. From 1893 through 1913, he lived in Cranford, New Jersey.
