"The preponderances of Mr. K" in the title of this book, refers to the short, anecdotal stories written by Bertolt Brecht. The author invited Mr. K. to introduce his comprehensive analyses of the "church system", i.e. the inner raison d'être of Christian communities, cultures, or institutions. His book presents six insights into the origins, nature, and functioning of the "church system". Each of them is explained and illustrated with vivid, erudite references to texts and actions that reveal the very "viscera" of that system. This book's central metaphor is that of the "core and shells" of the church system.Tomasz Polak (until 2008 Tomasz Weclawski), born 1952. Theologian and cultural analyst.
