Cesare Pavese (1908–1950) was a fundamental intellectual figure in Italy in the first half of the 20th century: he was a translator, a poet, a novelist, an essayist, and the mind behind the prestigious publisher Einaudi. Iuri Moscardi is a visiting assistant professor of Italian at Bryn Mawr College. Julian Sachs is an adjunct professor of Italian studies at New York University.
