Produktbeschreibung
The main theme of this work is the appreciation of the Teutos in the political constitution of Rio Grande do Sul during the period of political transition between the Monarchy and the Republic. The period analyzed covers the 1880s and 1890s, with the focal point being 1891, the year of the constitutional election in Rio Grande do Sul. The election results demonstrated the oppositionist character of politicians from areas of German immigration. The aim is to demonstrate that the role of the Deutsch-Brasilianer was not merely that of spectators or supporting actors, but rather that of decisive actors in the formation of political situations of great political conflict, which even reached the point of challenging the hegemonic party project established by Júlio de Castilhos' Partido Republicano Riograndense (PRR).
