This work aims to show the trajectory of the Festa do Divino Espírito Santo (Feast of the Holy Spirit) in the city of Gravataí/RS in the 20th and 21st centuries, seeking to highlight the factors that led to its interruption in the 1970s. The city of Gravataí has been part of an area of Azorean occupation since the 18th century and brings characteristics of this cultural heritage to the Festa do Divino. To achieve this objective, we worked with oral, documentary, and bibliographic sources that allowed us to understand the context of the festival and its main actors throughout the period studied. In addition, we used iconography and journalistic sources to deepen our analysis and understand the nuances of the festive practice in the city. Finally, we highlight that the relevance of this research also lies in the finding that the festival helps to write the history of the city of Gravataí.
