This book pertains to the impact of public procurement on services delivery. It argues that complying with procurement procedures delays the provision of infrastructure in public schools. This is not the same as saying compliance is unnecessary but it should not serve as a deterrent. The study employed a qualitative research method and the primary data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with eight Department of Public Works (DPW) officials and eight contractors that conduct business with DPW. This study can assist the South African government in designing procurement in the manner that will expedite service delivery.
