Aldo Ricciardi is a father of two children, Marina, and Dante. He has been married to Palma since 1971. He was born in 1948 in Rende, Province of Cosenza, Italy and grew up in a small village with his father Nicola, mother Lucia, and siblings.His book titled, "The Journey and Life of a Young Emigrant" is a memoir of his exertions and achievements. As he got older, his mom realized that he should come to America to join her and find new opportunities. His older brother decided to assist with his travel to America. His sister arrived in America years before him with her family.In 1963, Ricciardi boarded a ship that would take him from Italy to America. After twelve days at sea, he finally arrived at Ellis Island.At Ellis Island, Ricciardi went through a series of medical and legal inspections before he was allowed to enter the United States. He was nervous and excited about what lay ahead for him in this new country.After leaving Ellis Island, he settled in with his mother in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and began his new life in America. He worked hard and eventually started a family. He never forgot his roots and remained proud of his Italian heritage.Ricciardi is retired and resides in Illinois with his lovely wife. He spends time with family and friends, including gardening, golfing, playing poker and Italian cards.
