Light captures the vertigo of falling in love, the devastation of loss, and the echoing quiet left behind. Each poem is a fragment: sharp, tender, and unflinchingly honest. Together they trace collapse not as an end but as proof of what survives destruction. Light writes with brutal clarity and haunting beauty, pulling readers through heartbreak, emptiness, and the fragile sparks that still flicker in the ruins. This is not a story of healing. It is a story of endurance, of what it means to keep going when everything has fallen apart. For anyone who has loved, lost, and stood at the edge of themselves, The Sound of Collapse is a companion in the silence and the moment it finally answers back.
Autorenporträt
Andrew M. Light is an Austrian writer in his mid-thirties. In his professional life he works in a demanding, rational field, but poetry became his refuge when life itself began to collapse. A writer by necessity rather than design, he never set out to publish - these poems were written because they needed to be. The Sound of Collapse is his debut collection, born from years marked by love, loss, and resilience. His work reflects a restless need to question everything: the meaning of words, silence, and human behavior. Away from writing, he finds stillness in classical music and strength in ultrarunning. This first book is both a record of survival and the beginning of his voice as an author.
