Following that example, improving the spiritual quality of their people's lives should be the primary goal of all Christian ministers. The majority of this work will conduct a careful exegesis of selected passages from the New Testament, which focus on the leadership model utilized by the first-century church. This study presents in detail the stratified leadership model of the early times in such a fashion that any modern church might replicate its design.

Barton S. Garratt Edsall is a biblical scholar and author whose first work was The Lifestyle of God's True Believers: For We Walk by Faith, Not by Sight, published in 2010. He is an accomplished public speaker and lecturer. Edsall has undertaken over twenty independent biblical studies courses, studied at The Ohio State University, and received his masters and doctoral degrees in biblical exposition from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
