A missing painting. A field trip gone wrong. And two chaos-loving classmates who make everything worse-or maybe better. When a priceless masterpiece vanishes during United Middle School's field trip to the Greenfield Museum, it's up to the Young Investigators-Jake, Emily, Max, and Amy-to crack the case. But with Chip and Mia causing mayhem, a fainting tour guide, secret passageways, and a barking morale officer named Rusty, solving this mystery might be their wildest adventure yet. Can they find the stolen art before the buses leave... or will the real treasure be lost forever?

Autorenporträt
About the Author E. J. Rohly grew up on a farm in rural Ohio, where her imagination had plenty of room to run wild. As a kid, she loved making up stories-especially when she babysat and could share her tales with the kids she watched. Sometimes, she even let them produce their own endings! Making up stories is still one of her favorite things to do. Esther went to school to learn more about teaching kids, and she became a preschool teacher, where she has spent years creating fun ways for little ones to learn and grow. As her family grew, she took literature classes to get better at writing, hoping to author her own books. Now, she is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and continues to learn new things through writing classes. Today, she is busy writing mysteries and adventures to spark imagination, just like her own love of stories sparked years ago on her family's farm.
