Violence in schools is a topical phenomenon that hinders the proper education of young people in general, and girls in particular. Young girls are subjected to verbal, physical and symbolic violence, and are regarded as people deprived of certain rights. The conditions in which they study are not particularly conducive to their personal development. Before thinking about finding solutions to this problem, which is becoming a real headache for public authorities, an understanding of the different forms of violence suffered by young girls at school is the ideal way to get a better idea of the phenomenon. The three forms of violence to which girls are subjected at school in Brazzaville are parallel, perpendicular and horizontal violence, which are perceived as daily manifestations of school violence in the Thomas Sankara A and B high schools.
