Ken Chant is an Australian theologian who studied the Word of God for most of his adult life. He was ordained as a pastor in 1954 with the Christian Revival Crusade, a Pentecostal denomination. While pastoring in Launceston, Tasmania, Ken gained a Master of Religious Education, a Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Theology, and a Doctor in Philosophy. At the same time, he developed a bible study correspondence course for people who were unable to attend a Bible college. The Launceston College of Theology grew into Vision Christian College, sending the 'whole Word to the whole World', initially via the post but later through the developing medium of the internet. Students from 150 different countries have studied with Vision.¿¿Ken was actively involved in Christian ministry for over seventy years gaining a wide experience in all forms of ministry life - pioneering churches; pastoring and preaching; writing and serving as editor for charismatic magazines; principal and lecturer in various Bible colleges; and presenter at conferences in the UK, USA, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Greece and New Zealand. He also composed praise and worship songs, the most famous being, Fill my eyes O my God.¿¿In 2014, Ken was awarded an OBE for his contribution to religious education in Australia. However, Ken's most significant contribution has been his authorship of close to forty books expounding on the truths found in Scripture. These books are ecumenical and biblically-based, attracting readers and students from across denominations.¿¿In 2024, Ken and his wife, Alison, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. They have four children, 18 grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Ken passed away September 25th 2024, but his legacy will live on through his writing. He is greatly missed!¿¿
