Produktbeschreibung
'Edinburgh Jimmy' Rae - a truly unique and brilliant caddie.

James Rae was cheeky, filled with mischief, sometimes irascible, but always kind-hearted. In this collection of stories about this son of Lothian, golfers, caddies, friends and family tell of a man who could be challenging and unpredictable, but always managed to provoke a smile.

His knowledge and understanding of the game made him a caddy in demand by players. His long-term relationship with Ryder Cup hero and broadcaster, Paul McGinley, was the source of an enduring friendship that lasted until Jimmy's passing. Paul writes the foreword of the book and tells some of the stories of his time with Jimmy.

This is a book for people who love golf, and miss some of the character that has disappeared from the game in an age of ultra-professionalism.

Autorenporträt
I was born on 2 April 1956 in Edinburgh to my parents, Robert and Joan Ramsay.I didn't start playing golf until I was 13 years of age, where I was fortunate that the nearest golf course, Craigentinny Municipal Course, was only 150 yards away from my home (as the crow flies). It wasn't long until I joined the club within Craigentinny (Lochend Golf Club). I had truly got the bug, and the rest is history. The lowest handicap I ever attained was 3.For over 40 years, I worked in HM Revenue & Customs (formerly Inland Revenue), mainly in Edinburgh but also for 18 months in London.I am married to Maureen (10 years), and I have 1 son, Blair, from a previous marriage and 2 Granddaughters, Lillie and Raia. We currently live in Musselburgh but are shortly moving to Dalgety Bay in Fife.I am a member at Kilspindie Golf Club and work as a Pro Shop Assistant at Aberdour Golf Club.
