'Sujatha' (1935 to 2008) was the pseudonym adopted by the prolific and extremely popular Tamil writer S. Rangarajan who wrote several short stories, plays, poems and articles in addition to many novels. His subjects ranged from domestic dramas to mysteries, romances and popular science. An engineer by qualification, Sujatha was instrumental in designing the electronic voting machine. He also collaborated on scripts for films with Kamal Hassan (Vikram), Maniratnam (Thiruda Thiruda) and others.
