Dreams of an icy dragon and a fist-sized diamond atop a silver wand plagued Sikode's youth. They convinced him that dragons were more than myth, and that he needed to find the Ice Stone, complete the magickal trials held within, and bond to a dragon.

To fulfill their dreams, Shiobe, Sikode and climber Ceten travel to Hekara's Abyss, the home of Lajaka, the Ice Dragon of Lassa. Resting high in the Re a tari Mountains of Rakan, it is a place of deep snows and freezing winds, which makes the hunt for a secret entrance perilous.

They discover that hazardous weather is not the only danger awaiting them. The cult of bloodmages has dug its fingers into the communities that rest in the shadow of the Abyss, tainting all they touch with foul promises and fouler magick. For Sikode to realize his dream, he and Shiobe must eradicate the bloodmage influence first.

But the bloodmages and their death-drenched deity have a dream as well, and they will do anything to attain it.

Kwyn Marie's imagination takes her to vast shadowy settings that she loves to explore. Influenced by fantasy books and comics, she dove into writing and drawing at age eleven and never stopped. Dark/science fantasy with strong female leads is her passion, and her tales and artwork reflect that.

She has won several awards for worldbuilding articles written as extra content for readers.

She has bachelor's degrees in English and Art History, and a master's degree in Library and Information Science. She plays cello, tin whistle, recorder, and video games. At times a librarian and a gothic/industrial dance club DJ, she is now a full-time author and illustrator living in southern California.
